Etchings
from the small wonders of a Maine Island.
I happened to have several copper
plates the same size, 6” X 8”, many drawings and
filled sketchbooks from Monhegan Island, Maine. These drawings
were collected over a five-year period. Despite the fact that
the images are the same size and derived from the same subject
matter, these etchings are not a series. Each image stands alone,
unearthed from memory. I did not work consistently on the etchings,
but went back and forth between other projects. I must have touched
a portion of my past that formed a link to the Island and then
an etching. |
