Before you are four artists’ books: “Plants
and Insects”, “Translations and Transformations”, “Parallel
Voices, and "Celebrating Childhood". They are each printed
in different media and drawn from different sources. None
of them have been created with illustration in mind, but
evolve from the core of the accompanying text. Sometimes
I am in the middle of a print and come across a poem that
expresses what I am trying to say. The book grows from that
point of recognition. In other situations, I may have read
a poem that I like and save it for years. One print can act
as a catalyst to this memory and another book starts. Regardless
of the print medium or content, words and images merge to
produce a different art form: the artist book.
